Despite losing the 2 of the 3 games in New York, the Dodgers looked forward to taking some momentum with them when they face the Nationals at Dodger Stadium.
Wells went 5 innings in the final game and was charged with two runs. This was despite the fact of not working out for several weeks. Known as a big game pitcher, there will be plenty of big games for Wells to pitch in, the Dodgers look forward to more solid starts from him.
The momentum did carry over on Monday. The offense looked like a typical Dodger offense that night, racking up the base hits and driving in some runs. Juan Pierre also made it on the base and like he normally does swipes a base. The Dodgers downed the Nationals 5-4.
Lowe (11-11) went six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out five. However, he did allow three homers in the game. This was the first time Lowe has given up 3 since Aug. 16, 2005. Despite the struggle, the Dodgers managed to give him a win.
Question from Dodgers.com
Do the Dodgers have a lot of free agents they might lose after this season?
– Tom N., Tampa, Fla.
Nearly half of the current roster. Here are the possibilities: Gonzalez, Hillenbrand, Jeff Kent, Mike Lieberthal, Ramon Martinez, Olmedo Saenz, Mark Sweeney, Hernandez, Rudy Seanez, Wells and Randy Wolf. There are 2008 options on Kent, Lieberthal, Martinez and Wolf. Already cut loose this year: Marlon Anderson, Brady Clark and Brett Tomko.
