Ethier lifts Dodgers passed Cubs

With Dempster trotting towards the mound, Dodger fans began to switch off their TV’s, But the fans who continued to watch were rewarded handsomely. The Dodgers would put up 4 runs in the 9th off of Dempster and put him into a dumpster.

Andre Eithier was the hero with a pinch-hit 3 run homerun. The Dodger dugout was set into frenzy as Ethier reentered the dugout. It was his 2nd pinch-hit homerun this season, both of which having been against the Chicago Cubs. The performance overshadowed Alfonso Soriano’s multi-homer day.

“You’re looking at that,” Ethier said of the wind. “That kind of thing plays favorably into my swing. I was able to get a pitch where I could get extended and hit the ball up that way. Fortunately the wind was blowing in my favor.”

The Dodgers fly into the Bay area to take on their long time rivals, the San Francisco Giants. Los Angeles is only 3.5 games out of the Division lead and 2.5 out of a wild card spot.
