I've been stood up by companies I have applied job at recently. I applied at Big 5 last week and I didn't even need an interview. They must really need additional employees. Anyway, they gave me an employee handbook right away. I think that's a good sign that they hired me, but I'm not sure. When I called for an update about my application, the manager said my paperwork was still being processed. He said they would give me a call. Well it's been a week since I applied, so should I keep calling them about this? I know I asked the same question about Hollywood video but screw them. I mean when I was in high school, I got my first job easily. I'm struggling to get a job right now. I need it for school and I hate relying on my parents.

I don't think it's a bad thing. Keeps you in their minds, you know? As long as you remain polite and not sound like you are being impatient, I don't think they would hold it against you.

I think its always good to show interest as long as you are polite and cordial when inquiring about your application.

Damn it, man. The manager said they won't be contacting applicants till the last week of this month or early February. Good Lord, the life of an unemployed man. bang
