LaLaK, your short post does remind me of the one and only thing that Giants and Dodgers fans agreed with during my younger days in New York and that was "screw the Yankees."
You guys know, though, that Yankee fans can always point to the fact that on every board it seems there is a Yankee Page. A sad fact for those of us who have grown up despising that team but a fact nevertheless. I wonder if in the subconscious we have this hidden admiration for that team or just like to vent our hatred of that club and bring it in the open. I don't really know, but if any of you have any insight you can give this old warhorse I would be most appreciative. |

You'd despise the Yankees if you were a Red Sox fan, too, and in fact most people hate the Yankees. I wonder what it is about the Red Sox that you don't like. They never were of any harm to the Dodgers unless you want to go way back to 1916. |

I don't really hate the organization, but I hate their stupid fans. One championship in 86 years and they suddenly think they are a dynasty. And one more reason that I despise the fans is because they are hypocrites when they make excuses that the Yankees "buy" championships. The Red Sox are second in payroll and they only had one homegrown player in their 2004 championship. Unlike the Yankees, they had Jeter, Mo, Pettite, Posada, and Bernie -- ALL from the NYY farm system.

U.P., no Red Sox fan thinks of their title in 2004 as a dynasty; nothing could be farther from the truth. With a team that has had more strange and tragic things happen to it than just about any other, many Red Sox fans I know wonder if they will live to see another title. Good point about home grown products on their title team, though. The team is changing that rapidly, however. Youk last year added to Pedroia this year and Ellsbury next season along with some real good young pitchers. Nobody can buy a title; the Yankees have tried that the past six years and have gotten nothing of the sort. What is needed is a good farm system bringing good players on the ML team coupled with selected and wise choices on the FA market. |

Bum.. it stems from the brooklyn days..if you're a dodger fan you know your big brother the yanks have been beatin up on you since you were young.... they took soo many series from us and just the frustration of the "Fox" era when we were mired in futility and Daddy Warbucks Steinbrenner was going to the show everyyear... its like an envious aspiring lil brother inferiority complex we got with the yanks
