I'm looking forward to the hockey season (can't really be excited about the NBA). The Kings have a nice young group of talent. I just wish they had a decent goalie.

Adding Stuart and Preissing should give us one of the best defensive rotations in the league. I also like the additions of Handzus, Nagy, and Calder. Unlike last season, our top 6 should be pretty strong. I'm looking for young guns Kopitar, JMFJ, and O'Sullivan to be big contributors to this team. It also should be interesting to see if any of our other prospects (Tuks, Boyle, Lewis, Parse) make the big club.

Goaltending is definitely a point of concern. However, there is some hope. Before his wife got sick LaBarbera was rock solid between the pipes, and he also played quite well at the end of 05-06. And given that he won the Holmes trophy last year, I'm hopeful that he'll play well for us. I'm also curious to see how Erik Ersberg plays here. He was the top goalie in the SEL and won the Honken trophy (which was also awarded to Henrik Lundqvist a few years back) so there's a chance he can be a solid netminder for us.

It would be nice if this team makes the playoffs, but I'm not expecting us to make any noise in the postseason. We'll definitely be a first round exit if we even get to the Cup playoffs.

p.s. you right UP... this year may be the turning point in LA for hockey... the Ducks have the cup .. and if the Kings turn things around.. it may find a solid footing jam2

It pains me to say it but: I would like to see the Kings get good. I would also like for the Ducks to remain good. A blistering rivalry for So. Cal would be great. Say meet in the WCF in a 7 game series. Come on that would be sweet. I don't care if you are a Ducks fan or a Kings, fan I think all would agree a 7 game WCF would be amazing.

I went to one Kings game with Tom Leykis and fell asleep, I went to see them fight and none broke out......but the cartoon of the goofies playing hockey was pretty cool, Patino and Ferguson always fighting.
