Delwyn Young, Takashi Saito, and Andy Laroche participated in the IBAF, in which USA won the gold. Here are the stats for Delwyn, Laroche, and Saito

Andy Laroche: .333, 3 HR, 15 RBI
Takashi Saito: 1-1, 3.38 ERA, 13.1 IP, 13 K, 2 BB, 1.28 WHIP
A number of Dodger prospects played winter ball. Overall a pretty dismal showing (with the exception of Hu, Wade, and Johnson). Greg Miller in particular got pounded every time he took the mound.

Kyle Wilson - 12 GP, 0-3, 8.68 ERA, 1.93 WHIP

Also, pitchers Scott Elbert (shoulder) and Bryan Morris (elbow) are recovering from operations without setbacks and are participating in the Arizona Instructional League. Elbert has begun throwing, while Morris (who had Tommy John elbow ligament replacement surgery late last year) is throwing 93 mph.
Top pitching prospect Clayton Kershaw also is in Arizona working on secondary pitches, Lukas May is continuing to refine his catching skills and Preston Mattingly is working on second-base skills. _________________ Counting the days to the 09 season |
